Box Score WICHITA – Newman volleyball made quick work of the Barclay College Bears on Tuesday (Sept. 24), winning 3-0 at Fugate Gymnasium. NU got the straight set win with scores of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-10. The Lady Jets moved to 4-5 on the season, matching last season's win total.
 
NU hit a season-high .397 in the match, including .452 in the third set. The Lady Jets had 42 kills on 78 attempts with only 11 errors. NU had a season-high 12 service aces, however, they also had 10 service errors. Alexus Litts and Alexis Roecker each totaled four aces and Lexi Kuharich had three aces.
 
Ashley Gonzalez put down a match-high 10 kills and hit a match-high .562, which is also a Lady Jet season high. Roecker added nine kills, and she hit .500. Roecker was one kill off a double-double as the freshman outside hitter had a match-high 13 digs.
 
Litts led NU with 21 assists, a match high, and Kuharich added 14 assists.
 
The Lady Jets head to Texas this weekend for two Heartland Conference matches. NU takes on St. Edward's on Thursday (Sept. 26) at 7p.m. in Austin, Texas, and the Lady Jets play McMurry on Saturday (Sept. 28) at 12 p.m. in Abilene, Texas.
