AUSTIN, Texas – The Newman women's soccer team will be looking to get back on track at St. Edward's on Saturday (Oct. 11) at 12 p.m. at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
The Hilltoppers are 6-4 and a perfect 2-0 in the Heartland Conference with wins over Dallas Baptist in two overtimes and Oklahoma Christian. Before the two-match winning streak, SEU lost three straight matches. Riana Soobadoo and Lauren Heller lead the offense with three goals each. Gracen Jacks has a team-high four assists. Lorrie Santoy has started all 10 matches in goal and averages 0.63 goals against. She has a .806 save percentage.
The Lady Jets are currently 4-5-1 and 0-2 in the Heartland Conference. NU has struggled to score goals recently, dropping three straight matches and were shutout in all three contests.
Maricela Ruvalcaba has scored a team-high four goals, and
Jasmine Woodruff adds four goals.
Mei-Mei Senthavy leads the team in assists with three.
Haley Borchers returned in the last game and allowed one goal.
