MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Newman volleyball team ends its five-match road trip tonight (Oct. 14) at Bacone College at 7 p.m. in a non-conference contest.
The Lady Jets are currently 7-10 on the season and 3-4 in non-conference action. Six of the seven non-conference matches this season thus far have been on the road or at a neutral site. The Lady Jets went 1-1 last week, giving UAFS its first conference loss with a 3-1 win on the road, and then NU lost, 3-0, at Dallas Baptist. The win over the Lions was the Lady Jets first victory over them since Oct. 24, 2010.
The Lady Warriors of Bacone College are currently 6-11. They snapped a six-match losing streak on Friday (Oct. 10) with a 3-0 win over Jarvis Christian. In their most recent contest, the Lady Warriors fell, 3-1, to Wiley College on the road in Marshall, Texas. Bacone College is a member of the Red River Athletic Conference and the NAIA. The Lady Warriors are coached by Jacob Rodriguez, who is in his third season.
