                     WICHITA – For the first time in more than two weeks, the Newman volleyball team plays at home. The Lady Jets take on Lubbock Christian tonight (Oct. 16) at 7 p.m. at Fugate Gymnasium, and NU hosts Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday (Oct. 18) at 12 p.m. Live stats and video are available for both contests. 
The Lady Jets are 8-10 this season and 4-6 in the Heartland Conference. NU traveled to Bacone College on Tuesday (Oct. 14) and defeated the Warriors, 3-0. It's the Lady Jets first home match since Sept. 30 when NU defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State, 3-0, in a conference match. The Lady Jets are currently 3-2 at home this season, including 2-2 in Heartland Conference contests. 
The last time the Lady Chaps came to Fugate Gymnasium, LCU won a tight five-set match. NU won the first two sets, but dropped the final three for the 3-2 loss. The Lady Jets lost, 3-0, on Sept. 13 in Lubbock, Texas in the first meeting of the teams this season. 
The Lady Chaps are 11-2 and 8-1 in the Heartland Conference. The two losses have been on the road as they are 5-2 in away matches. Their lone conference loss was at Arkansas-Fort Smith on Sept. 18 by the score of 3-1. LCU's Maddie Johnson was named the Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week on Monday (Oct. 13) and Erin Fisher was named the Setter of the Week. Johnson leads the Lady Chaps with 3.64 kills per set. Fisher averages 11.55 assists per set, and Christa Daniel totals 4.85 digs per set. 
UTPB comes to Fugate Gymnasium on Saturday (Oct. 18). The Falcons are 8-11 and 4-6 in the Heartland Conference. They take on Oklahoma Panhandle State tonight before Saturday's match. On Wednesday (Oct. 15), UTPB lost at Eastern New Mexico, 3-0. The day before on Tuesday (Oct. 14), the Falcons defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville, 3-0. Ryley Carman leads the team with 3.21 kills per assist. Ariana Gallardo is their primary setter with 8.18 per set, and Taylor Harmon has a team-leading 4.51 digs per set.
