KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Newman volleyball team fell in straight sets, 3-0, at Rockhurst on Wednesday (Oct. 22) at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Lady Jets dropped to 10-11 on the season, and Rockhurst moved to 18-3.
The Hawks dominated in each set, winning 25-18, 25-18, 25-12.
Emily Harvey led NU with nine kills, and
Ashley Gonzalez added eight kills. The Lady Jets hit just .099 in the match with 33 kills and 19 errors.
Lexi Kuharich finished with 25 assists, and
Anna Burton tallied 20 digs.
RU hit .308 for the match, including .378 in the first set. Katie Loescher totaled a match-high 11 kills and hit .474. Whitney Kostal had a match-high 39 assists, and Anne Hellwege totaled 24 digs. The Hawks totaled only nine errors in the match, three in each set.
The Lady Jets return to conference action this weekend on Saturday (Oct. 25) at St. Edward's. The match starts at 12 p.m. in Austin, Texas.
