WICHITA – The Newman men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over Tabor College on Saturday (Feb. 15). The Jets moved to 4-4 on the season.
 
Evgeniy Kim and Max Pyle won, 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Nei Dos Santos and Daniel Smith got an 8-3 win. Jeff Wherritt and Mitchel Whitmer won, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles.
 
The Jets also swept all six singles matches. Dos Santos pulled away for a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Kim got a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Freddy Sanchez cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 3 singles. In the No. 4 singles match, Miguel Bendito got the shutout with a 6-0, 6-0. Wherritt won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and Whitmer picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
 
The Jets are back in action on March 1 at McPherson College in McPherson, Kan.
