OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Newman men's basketball team travels to Oklahoma Christian on Thursday (Jan. 15) to take on the rival Eagles at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagles' Nest. Live stats and video are available for the game.
NU is currently 6-6 and 2-4 in the Heartland Conference. In their most recent game, the Jets defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State by the score of 95-77 on Saturday (Jan. 10). Jeremy Espinoza totals 13.5 points per game. Baker pulls down a team-high 6.3 rebounds, and Espinoza is right behind at 6.0 rebounds per game.
The Eagles are coming off an impressive 75-55 victory over Lubbock Christian on Saturday (Jan. 10), giving OC its first conference win of the season. Before the win, the Eagles were 0-5 in the Heartland Conference, including a 74-72 overtime loss to Oklahoma Panhandle State on Jan. 8. OC also fell to St. Edward's, Texas-Permian Basin, St. Mary's and Texas A&M International. Seven-footer John Moon leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 15.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Eric Randall also averages double figures at 14.8 points and adds 6.7 rebounds per game.
