Madison Decker scored late in the contest to lift the Newman women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Oklahoma Christian on Sunday (Nov. 1) at the Eagle Soccer Field in the season finale for the Jets. With the win, NU finished the season at 6-8-2 and 3-4-1 in the Heartland Conference.
Decker, a junior from Topeka, Kan., tallied the game-winning goal in the 81st minute. She dribbled around a defender and hit on a shot from 15 yards. The goal was her third of the season and first game winner.
After a slow start in the first half, the Jets went on to dominate in the second stanza. NU totaled nine second-half shots on goal and 13 shots overall to only one shot on goal from OC.
In the first half, the Eagles held a slight 5-2 edge with two shots on goal. NU totaled one shot on goal in the first half.
Kayleigh Renfro, who was playing in her final game as a Jet, got the shutout in goal, her first of the season. She totaled three saves on 90 minutes.

Harriet Jakeman finished with a match-high four shots with three shots on goal.
Morgan Foster had three shots with one shot on goal.
The Jets end the 2015 season on a three-match winning streak, all on the road. For the season, NU finished 6-8-2. The Jets 3-4-1 record ranks sixth in the Heartland Conference.
