ResultsMCPHERSON, Texas – The Newman women's tennis team moved to 11-0 with an impressive 9-0 win at McPherson College today (March 7) at McPherson High School.
NU started with three wins at doubles competition. The duo of
Lisa Pleskan and
Carissa Villaflor pulled out to an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles,
Kate Bugayenko and
Hillary Hicks got an 8-4 victory. In the No. 3 doubles match,
Ariana Raga and
Tamar Tskhakaia cruised to a 8-1 win.
The Jets won all six singles courts in dominating fashion. The closest set score was 6-3. Bugayenko cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Pleskan was also impressive, getting a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles. In the No. 3 singles match, Tskhakaia won by a 6-3, 6-0 score. Hicks was victorious by a 6-1, 6-2 score at No. 4 singles. At both No. 5 and 6 singles, NU kept MC off the board, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Courtney Dold won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and Villaflor got the 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
NU plays at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Friday (March 13) at 3 p.m. in Durant, Okla.
