Annie Gentry hit a game-winning walk-off single up the middle to center field to score the winning run in a 7-6 game one victory over Fort Hays State on Monday (April 13) at the Newman Softball Field. FHSU won game two, 6-3, in the second game. The Jets moved to 12-31 on the season.

Breanna Pingry tied the score at 6-6 with a single through the right side of the infield to plate
Courtney Sartin.
After falling behind 3-0, the Jets gained a 4-3 lead with four runs in the third inning.
Taylor Mannis singled through the infield to score
Kaitlyn Padilla, and then Sartin hit a three-run homer to left field to put the Jets up 4-3.
The Tigers regained the edge in the fourth inning on a two-RBI double down the line for a 5-4 score.
NU knotted it up at 5-5 on a Mannis single up the middle.
Delaney Hiegert came home on the RBI single.
In the fifth inning, FHSU went up by a 6-5 score on another double down the line. The lead didn't hold as the Jets plated the two runs in the seventh inning.
Mannis went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the lead-off spot. Sartin was 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Gentry finished at 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Katie Ingles got the win as she pitched the final 2.2 innings. She didn't allow a hit and struck out two in eight at bats.
Jensen Cromer started in the circle and went the first 4.1 innings.
Fort Hays State 6, Newman 3
The Tigers scored three early runs and held on for a 6-3 win in the second game of the doubleheader. The first runs scored in the first inning on sac fly. A homer in the third upped the advantage to 3-0.
Sartin hit her second home run of the day in the third inning. The two-run shot pulled the Jets to within one run at 3-2.
FHSU responded with its own two-run homer to increase the lead to 5-2.
Kelsey Jones hit an infield single to make it 5-3 in the fifth inning.
A fielder's choice in the sixth scored the final run of the game for the 6-3 final.
Mannis again went 3-for-4 in the second game. She finished at 6-for-8 in the doubleheader. Sartin was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
The Jets play their final road games of the season at William Jewell on Wednesday (April 15). The doubleheader starts at 2:30 p.m. in Liberty, Mo.
