Women’s Soccer Continues Road Trip at WU Tonight

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Newman women's soccer team continues its four-match road swing at Washburn tonight (Sept. 16) at 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium. Live stats are available for the contest.
 
The Jets are currently 1-2-1 on the season and started the road trip with a 1-0 double overtime loss at Missouri Southern on Saturday (Sept. 12) in Joplin, Mo. A tough luck own goal allowed the Lions to get the win. In their three-match home stand to start the season, NU went 1-1-1 with a 1-0 win over East Central. Junior forward Morgan Foster has scored all three goals this season for the Jets.
 
Kelsi Langley is the starting goalkeeper for the Jets with a 0.77 goals against average with 23 saves. She has a .895 save percentage. Langley has one shutout on the season and has allowed only three goals.
 
The Ichabods are currently 0-1-2 on the season. WU started with a 2-1 loss to Minot State and then tied in consecutive matches against Southwest Minnesota State and Rockhurst. Cadence Bourne has scored one goal on the season, and Sara Specht has an assist. Kaitlin Minnich starts in goal with a 0.58 goals against average with a .920 save percentage. She has two shutouts and 23 saves.
 
The two teams met last season with the Jets getting a 2-1 win at Wilkins Field.
 
After tonight's game, the Jets travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday (Sept. 19) for a 3 p.m. contest in Weatherford, Okla.
