ALVA, Okla. – The Newman women's soccer team plays its final road nonconference contest of the season tomorrow (Sept. 24) at Northwestern Oklahoma State at the Alva Rec Complex. Live stats will be available for the contest.
The Jets are currently 2-3-1 and went 1-1 last week. NU defeated Washburn, 2-1, with
Morgan Foster tallying two scores, and then the Jets fell, 2-0, at Southwestern Oklahoma State. After the two-goal performance against WU, Foster was named the Heartland Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week. She has five goals in six contests this season.
The Rangers are currently 1-3-1 on the season with their lone victory against Oklahoma Christian on Sept. 19 by a 1-0 score. NOWSU has scored only one goal this season by Arlet Polack in the win over OC. Opponents have scored 2.00 goals per game against NWOSU. All 10 goals allowed thus far were scored in the second half against the Rangers. Briana Legaspi has started all five games in goal with 66 saves and a .868 save percentage. She has allowed 2.10 goals per match.
After the road contest tomorrow, the Jets play five straight home contests. The stretch starts with Dallas Christian College on Monday (Sept. 28) at 5 p.m. at Wilkins Field.
