Jets Set To Begin Two Week Homestand

WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman women's soccer team heads back home to start its two-week homestand to close out the regular season after being on the road for two weeks straight. Newman plays St. Mary's Thursday evening and closes out the weekend with Texas A&M International Saturday afternoon.
 
SCOUTING NEWMAN
 
The Jets (4-5-5, 3-4-3, 12 pts Heartland) battled with the No. 1 team in the conference last Thursday in St. Edward's, dropping a closely contested 1-0 match in Austin. Newman then traveled to Dallas to take on Dallas Baptist, the Jets had opportunities but couldn't find the back of the net and ended up in a 0-0 double overtime tie with the Patriots.

St. Mary's (7-3-3, 5-2-3, 18 pts Heartland) played both conference matches at home last weekend. The Rattlers took on Oklahoma Christian last Thursday, winning a decisive 4-1 match over the Eagles. St. Mary's hosted Lubbock Christian last Saturday and ended in a 1-1 tie to close out the weekend.

Texas A&M International (1-13, 1-9, 3 pts Heartland) are coming off its first win of the season and in conference play as well. The Dustdevils hosted Lubbock Christian last Thursday, losing 5-0. Texas A&M International came out and played Oklahoma Christian last Saturday, earning a 1-0 victory over the Eagles to get into the win column for the first time this season.
