WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman volleyball team heads back home for a weekend of conference play after being on the road two weeks. Thursday they square off against Lubbock Christian and wrap-up their weekend by playing Oklahoma Panhandle State Saturday afternoon.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (15-8, 4-3 Heartland) played last night on the road against MIAA opponent Emporia State and lost their final nonconference match 3-0. Newman only played once last week and that came against the No. 1 team in the conference in Arkansas-Fort Smith. The Jets lost 3-0 to the Lions but played well throughout all three sets last Thursday.

SCOUTING THE LADY CHAPS
The Lady Chaps (11-9, 4-2 Heartland) played three nonconference matches last week. They played on the road at West Texas A&M on Oct. 11 losing 3-1 and then went back home to play Midwestern State on Oct. 13, winning 3-1. Lubbock Christian played its final match last week on Oct. 15 against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma losing 3-2. The Lady Chaps play tonight at Oklahoma Panhandle State before coming to Wichita.

The Aggies (3-18, 0-6 Heartland) played two nonconference matches last week. Both matches were played on Oct. 11 in Hays, Kansas against Fort Hays State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. Oklahoma Panhandle State got swept 3-0 in both matches. The Aggies play Lubbock Christian this evening at home, then on the road at Arkansas-Fort Smith tomorrow before taking on the Jets Saturday afternoon.
