Jets Ready For Final Home Conference Matches

WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman women's soccer team gets set for its final week of regular season conference play with two matches at home, beginning with Oklahoma Christian Thursday evening and Lubbock Christian for Senior Day Saturday afternoon.
 
SCOUTING NEWMAN
 
The Jets (5-6-5, 4-5-3, 15 pts Heartland) played two home conference matches last weekend. Newman hosted St. Mary's last Thursday, losing a close 2-1 match in the final minute of play. The Jets came back out Saturday afternoon and played Texas A&M International, scoring all three of their goals in the second half, winning 3-1 over the Dustdevils.

Oklahoma Christian (4-10-2, 2-8-2, 8 pts Heartland) played two conference matches at home last weekend. The Eagles took on St. Edward's last Thursday, losing 3-1 and played Dallas Baptist last Saturday, falling 1-0 in overtime to close out their final home weekend.

Lubbock Christian (7-3-5, 5-3-4, 19 pts Heartland) played its final two conference matches at home last weekend. The Lady Chaps hosted Dallas Baptist last Thursday, which ended in a 1-1 draw in double overtime. Lubbock Christian then took on the No. 7 ranked team in the nation St. Edward's but lost 2-1 in overtime Saturday afternoon.

-Morgan Foster was named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week for scoring two goals last weekend.
