WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman volleyball team returns home to begin its two week homestand to close out the regular season after being on the road last weekend, beginning with Texas A&M International Thursday and St. Mary's Saturday afternoon.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (18-9, 7-4 Heartland) played both of their matches last weekend on the road at Dallas Baptist and St. Edward's. Newman came away with two solid victories starting with Dallas Baptist last Thursday, winning a five-set thriller over the Patriots. The Jets then avenged a loss from earlier in the season to St. Edward's by beating the Hilltoppers 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS (Thursday, 7:00 p.m.)
Texas A&M International (2-20, 2-9 Heartland) played two matches last weekend and also two this week. The Dustdevils were at home last Thursday against Oklahoma Panhandle State, getting their second win of the season by beating the Aggies 3-0. Texas A&M International hosted Lubbock Christian last Saturday to close out the weekend but got swept 3-0 by the Lady Chaps. The Dustdevils traveled to Kingsville, Texas yesterday to take on two tough nonconference opponents in Angelo State and Texas A&M Kingsville. Texas A&M International lost both matches 3-0.

St. Mary's (13-12, 5-6 Heartland) played two matches last weekend and also one this week. The Rattlers hosted Lubbock Christian last Thursday, losing 3-0 to the Lady Chaps. St. Mary's played Oklahoma Panhandle State at home to close out its weekend by beating the Aggies 3-0. The Rattlers played Huston-Tillotson yesterday on the road and won 3-2.
