WICHITA, Kan. — The Newman tennis teams make their first roadtrip of the spring season, traveling to the St. Louis area to face off against a pair of teams Friday and Saturday.
The No. 34 Jet men (0-1) take on Lindenwood (2-0) Friday evening at 6 p.m. before going up against Missouri-St. Louis (1-0) Saturday night at 8. Newman's Eduardo Santos is the lone nationally-ranked player, coming in 25th in singles. The Lions are ranked No. 9 in the Central Region, while the doubles team of Filip Bogic and Johannes Rabenhorst are sixth in their region. The Tritons feature Fabian Frank, who is 18th in the Midwest Region in singles.
Coming in at No. 45 after the fall season, the Newman women (1-0) go up against Maryville (0-1) at 5 p.m. Friday before facing Missouri-St. Louis Saturday evening. Stoianova and Tskhakaia team up for the No. 9 doubles team in the South Central Region while the Jets are seventh in the region as a team, while UMSL is No. 10 in the Midwest Region.
