WICHITA, Kan. — Getting one more nonconference match in before kicking off Heartland Conference play next week, the Newman men's and women's tennis teams host Colorado State-Pueblo at Riverside Park Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Jet women (6-2) are winners of two straight after an impressive stretch last weekend, and have won four of their past five. It will be their first in-region competition when they take on the ThunderWolves (2-8), who have only played two matches so far this spring.
The Jet men (2-5) snapped a short losing streak by earning an 8-1 win over William Jewell last Saturday. They'll be facing off against a CSU-P squad that is 3-7 on the season and is ranked No. 10 in the latest South Central Region rankings, while the Jets are slotted fifth.
