WICHITA, Kan. — After taking its first lengthy roadtrip of the season and coming away with a win and a draw in conference play, the Newman women's soccer team comes back to Wichita to host conference favorites Dallas Baptist and St. Edward's in Heartland Conference action this Thursday and Saturday.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (3-1-3, 2-0-1, 7 pts Heartland) turned in another weekend where they didn't allow a goal topping Texas A&M International 1-0 and ending in a 0-0 tie at St. Mary's. The win against the Dustdevils required some drama, as Morgan Foster netted the game's only goal with less than seven minutes left in regulation.

NOTES
-Newman's defense keeps finding ways to impress, and keeps rising higher in the national rankings. The Jets are now second in the country in goals against average (0.130), save percentage (0.971) and shutout percentage (0.857), behind only Central Missouri, which hasn't allowed a goal. While Newman's stretch has covered seven games, UCM has played just five.
-The Hilltoppers' lone loss came to No. 16 Texas A&M-Commerce, an overtime defeat to another ranked team. They are second in the Heartland in scoring offense, assists and goals, behind only a St. Mary's side that Newman tied Saturday.
-Dallas Baptist has allowed just three goals over its past five games, although it's just 2-2-1 over that span. A big part of that is goalkeeper Hope Koym, who is second in the conference and 36th in the country with a 0.871 save percentage.
