Jets Kick Off Conference Play To Start Busy Weekend

WICHITA, Kan. — A quirk in the schedule has the Newman women's soccer team opening up Heartland Conference play in the second week of the season, headlining another busy weekend at Wilkins Field. Newman will face Rogers State Thursday at 5 p.m. before hosting Washburn Sunday at 2 p.m.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (1-0-2 overall) have kept up their impressive streak of not allowing a goal, a run that has now lasted three games and 310 minutes. That comes after a second straight 0-0, double-overtime draw on the road at East Central on Tuesday afternoon.

SCOUTING THE HILLCATS

Rogers State (2-0-0 overall) will come into Thursday's Heartland Conference opener well rested after not playing since Sunday afternoon. The Hillcats are undefeated after topping the two teams that the Jets have just tied with, besting Missouri Southern 2-1 and East Central 3-0 last week.
