LAREDO, Tex. — The Newman Women's Soccer team won Saturday 4-1 beating Texas A&M International. Newman trailed in this game until the later part of the first half, this victory puts Newman in good position going into the final weekend.
KEY SEQUENCE
The Jets (9-5-2, 6-4-2 Heartland) were looking at a 1-0 deficit in the first half and the Dustdevils (3-10-1, 2-9-1 Heartland) were working with momentum. The Jets' Makena Schroeder found Sheree Molina with a pass across the box for the goal tying the game giving the Jets back the momentum and helping them seal a 4-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Cio Bargello added her conference leading 16th goal and putting the Dustdevils up 1-0 early in the first half when she was able to take the ball passed defenders to net the ball passed the goalkeeper.
-Newman got into the action with first tying the game on a Sheree Molina goal assisted by Makena Schroeder with a pass across the box and Molina was able to finish the rest by putting the ball past the keeper and tying the game.
-Newman was able to get another goal early in the second half when Vanessa Ortiz received a pass from the far side of the box from Lexi Clark putting the ball in the lower post for the goal and giving the Jets more momentum.
-Colleen Howland got into the action when she received a break away pass from Sheree Molina getting into the box and netting the ball passed the keeper for another Jet goal and keeping the team ahead in the game.
-In the later part of the game Karen Tamayo was able to seal the game for the Jets when she was assisted with a pass from Katie Crouse in the box for the fourth goal of the game giving the Jets the victory 4-1.
NOTES
-The Jets have now scored five goals in its last two games receiving contribution from multiple players.
-The Jets are looking to continue this strong play in the final games they are looking strong and want to continue this.
-The Jets will finish up the season on the road traveling to Oklahoma City and Lubbock, Texas.
