CLEARMORE, Okla. — The Newman Men's Soccer team lost a hard fought game Saturday 3-1 to Rogers State. Newman seemed to struggle a little down the stretch but the team did fight hard for a comeback attempt, Saturday was the final game for Newman, it wasn't the outcome that it wanted on the season but the team fought as hard as they could with contribution from everyone.
KEY SEQUENCE
The Jets (4-10-4, 2-9-3 Heartland) were looking at a two point deficit late in the second half and the defense was looking to keep it that way but the Hillcats (8-7-3, 5-6-3 Heartland) were running with a lot of momentum and in the 70th minute Abe Young caught a pass from Declan Fitzpatrick for the shot in the box putting the Hillcats up 3-0 and sealing the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In the 44 minute both teams looking good keep the shots at bay trying to go into halftime tied, but when a penalty occurred, Declan Fitzpatrick was given a free kick from 20 yards out and scored in the lower left corner of the net.
-Jordan Watson go in on the action in the beginning of the second half when he received a pass and from 10 yards out he was able to score netting the ball in the right wing of the post and putting the Hillcats up 2-0.
-The second half continued and both teams going back and forth but the Hillcats were able to get another score when Abe Young received a pass from Declan Fitzpatrick inside the box for the goal to the far right post and putting the team up 3-0.
-Newman wasn't out just yet and when Vitor Okamoto took the ball down field and was able to Francklin Dallien on the right side of the box Dallien was able to net the ball in the upper right of the goal.
NOTES
-The Jets finish up their season on the road, looking to turn it around in the middle of the season but with some injuries and players playing at different positions it made it a little difficult to gain that momentum.
-The Jets will look to recruiting to replace nine seniors and will look to come back next season stronger and with many returners coming back they will look to gain that physical and tough play of soccer they are used.
