WICHITA, Kan. —The Newman men's basketball team begin Heartland Conference play Thursday when they will be taking on St. Edward's at home and Oklahoma Christian Saturday on the road. The Jets are looking to go into conference on a high note after finishing up the early part of their nonconference earlier this week.
SCOUTING NEWMAN
The Jets (2-5, 0-0 Heartland) are coming off some early season test when they took on a tough on nonconference schedule. The Jets will look to come into their own when it comes to its conference schedule, after finishing up early nonconference play with a matchup with the Ichabods Tuesday in which Newman struggled dropping that nonconference matchup 84-58.

The Hilltoppers (6-1, 0-0 Heartland) are coming off their early nonconference schedule going 6-1 enter conference play Thursday. The Hilltoppers hosted the St. Edward's Thanksgiving Tournament last Friday and Saturday going 2-0 after defeating the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico and the Tornados of Concordia University-Texas.

Monday the Eagles were back at home to take on Manhattan Christian and would win that matchup 118-79, the Eagles enter Heartland Conference play with a record of 2-4.
