WICHITA, Kan.—The Newman Men's basketball team will be splitting home and away games this week as they welcome Arkansas-Fort Smith Wednesday and will travel to Austin Saturday with a matchup with St. Edward's. The Jets are currently fifth in the conference looking to make a push with these games this weekend.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (9-11, 5-4 Heartland) are coming off a tough loss Thursday when they welcomed Lubbock Christian and both teams would go back and forth until the final couple minutes of the games when the Chaps were able to pull away and get the 83-73 victory. Saturday the Jets hosted the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian, the Jets were able to take the lead and never looked back they got the victory 79-51.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

The Lions (18-3, 7-3 Heartland) are coming off an undefeated weekend as they took on Rogers State Wednesday in Claremore, Oklahoma where the Lions were able to get the 84-79 victory. The Lions came back home for a matchup with Lubbock Christian Saturday, the Lions were able to best the Chaps 82-74.

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS

The Hilltoppers (14-7, 4-5 Heartland) are coming off a well-played weekend on the road Wednesday the team traveled to San Antonio to take on the Rattler's of St. Mary's, the Hilltoppers were able to come away with the victory 85-77. Saturday the team traveled to Laredo, Texas with a matchup with the Dustdevils of Texas A&M-International, this was a close hard fought game by both teams but the Hilltoppers came away victorious 65-60.
