WICHITA, Kan. — The Newman women's soccer team hits the road this weekend for their final road trip of the regular season. The Jets currently sit in third place in the Heartland conference and will look to gain ground as they matchup against the top two teams in the conference. The Jets will open the road trip in Austin, TX on Thursday (Oct. 11) at 2 p.m. matching up against conference leading St. Edwards. The Jets will conclude the road trip Saturday (Oct. 13) in Dallas, TX against second place Dallas Baptist University, kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m.

SCOUTING NEWMAN

The Jets (8-1-3, 4-1-3 Heartland) used a late second half surge scoring three goals in the final ten minutes of regulation settling for a 3-3 draw Saturday against Rogers State. The Jets outshot the Hillcats 19-18 in the game, finishing the contest with an 11-7 advantage on net.

The Hilltoppers took full control over the top spot in the Heartland Conference after a 1-0 overtime victory over Dallas Baptist last Saturday.

The Patriots got a late game tying goal in the final minutes of regulation, leading to a game winning goal in overtime to defeating St. Mary's 2-1. DBU came up on the wrong end of the scoreboard last Saturday, falling to St. Edwards 1-0 in overtime. With the loss the Patriots slipped to second in the Heartland. e in a 1-0 overtime loss to St. Edwards last Saturday.
