KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With close matches throughout, the Newman men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Rockhurst Sunday afternoon to start its spring break road trip.
The Jets (5-7) saw Lucas Norbiato come back for a 6-7 (7-4), 6-1, 1-0 (11-9) victory at No. 2 singles, while Diego Rojo earned a straight-set victory against the Hawks (9-2) at No. 3.
Blake Crawford and Ajani King suffered three-set defeats in singles, and Rockhurst slipped by with wins of 8-6 and 8-5 on two doubles courts.
The Jets continue their road trip Monday, facing Lindenwood.
