O'FALLON, Ill. — Snapping a short skid, the Newman men's tennis team topped McKendree 5-2 Tuesday afternoon to finish the first half of their spring break road trip.

The Jets (6-8) took an early lead thanks to two close victories in doubles. They clinched the victory with three straight-set wins in singles, with Lauri Soome picking up the victory at No. 1, and Diego Rojo and Blake Crawford doing the same at No. 3 and No. 4.

The Jets get to take a couple days off before heading to Dallas for three matches this weekend, beginning Friday against Texas-Permian Basin.
