ARLINGTON, Texas — Playing its third match in as many days against tough competition, the Newman women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat to a regionally-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville squad Sunday.

The Jets (13-5) earned a tough 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles by Kateryna Stoianova and Vlada Litvinova, but faced some rough matchups in singles play as the Javelinas (7-9).

Newman takes nearly two weeks off before getting back into Heartland Conference play April 6 against St. Mary's.
