EMPORIA, Kan. — Handicapped by a shorthanded squad, the Newman men's tennis team fell to Emporia State 7-2 Monday afternoon in nonconference action.
The Jets (9-11) were forced to forfeit two points to the Hornets (11-7), but Lucas Norbiato stepped up to grab an impressive 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles, and Ajani King added another point for the team with a straight-set win at No. 5.
The Jets wrap up their regular season with a match at Cameron Tuesday afternoon.
