WICHITA, Kan. — The Newman women's volleyball team lost a tough game on the second day of the Jet classic at the hands of the Ouachita Baptist, 25-22, 25-19, and 25-10. The Jets were looking to bounce back as well as gain some momentum going into their second game of the tournament.
Key Sequence
The Jets (1-6) were looking at a three-point game in the second set after a Jada Key kill for Newman. Newman was able to continue their good defense in this set, later in the second set, the Tigers (10-2) had taken a four-point lead after a kill by Katie Camp, which would give the Tigers momentum and later the set and game victory.
How It Happened
-In the first set, the Jets found themselves in a good game with the Tigers both teams would continue their neck and neck set until the final points of the game. After a kill by Hailey Braddy, the Jets were only down one, Newman would tie the set at 22 but the Tigers would get two solid kills for the set victory.
-Both teams would look to gain an edge on the other in the second set, after an ace by Trinity Conley the Jets were only down two and the teams would go back and forth once again. The Tigers would use a series of kills in the later part of the match to take a 22-17 lead and this would give the momentum back to Ouachita Baptist who would go up 2 sets to none.
-In the third set, looking at another close game early in the set the Jets were looking at a five-point deficit looking to get back in the game with some strong defense and a well-placed offense. The Tigers gained some momentum late giving themselves a lead and later the set and match victory.
Notes
-Hailey Braddy and Yemima Buana would combine for 15 kills for the game.
-Reagan Roth and Mackenzie Anderson would combine for 23 assists for the game.

The Jets finish up in the Jets Classic Saturday as they take on Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State at Noon and 6 P.M.
