Mies and Panagakis Notch Wins as Jets Suffer Tough Defeat at No. 6 Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The No. 22 ranked Newman wrestling team had a rough go Friday evening (Jan. 25) suffering a 36-7 defeat to a strong No. 6 ranked Lindenwood squad. After suffering four-straight losses to begin the dual, No. 2 ranked Tyler Mies put the Jets on the board with a strong third period showing picking up a 7-3 decision win over Nate Trepanier. Sophomore, Nate Panagakis continued to give Newman life securing his second major decision win on the year with an impressive 15-1 win over Jorge Guerrero. The Jets rally would end after the Lions claimed the final three decisions going on to win 36-7. The Jets fall to 2-5 on the season and drop to 1-2 in MIAA play.
