DALLAS, Texas – The Newman women's tennis team put an end to a season worst three match skid Saturday afternoon (Mar. 30) with a 5-2 victory over Texas-Permian Basin. The Jets improve to 10-9 on the season.
After waiting for nearly three hours due to rain, the Jets doubles teams swept through the Falcons claiming an early 1-0 match lead.
The Jets would win four of the six singles matches to take the dual victory. Vlada Litvinova won 6-1, 6-2 at #1 singles while Isabela Bifano won 6-4, 6-4 at #3 singles. Emily Young extended her winning streak to three straight with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at #4 singles putting the Jets a point away from clinching the match. #5 singles, Mirella Calvalcanti secured the match win for the Jets with a 6-2, 6-3 set win.
