PUEBLO, Co. - The Jets took a trip out west to Colorado to take part in three regional matches over the weekend and keep their hot streak alive. This would turn out to be a good weekend for the Jets as they would go win-loss-win.
Colorado Mesa - W 5-2
Doubles - Newman would win two of the three doubles matches.
Arthur Esteves Justo and
Lauri Soome would beat De La Bastide/Cure, 6-2.
Gustavo Gil and
Jarrod Nowak would win over Landen/Howe, 6-4.
Marcel Miasato and
Teodor Antelj weren't able to complete the sweep as they fell to Albrechtsen/Nejm, 7-5.
Singles - Justo, playing #1 singles, would defeat Albrechtsen, 6-3, 6-4. Both Soome and Antelj would go on to win their matches after dropping the first set. Nowak lost his match to Landen, 6-4 and 6-3. Gil would defeat Howe, 6-4 and 6-0. Miasato won the first set of his match before Steadman ended up withdrawing.
Metropolitan State - L 7-0
Doubles - Miasato/Antelj would save the Jets from getting swept as they were able to win their match 6-3. Justo/Soome would fall 6-1 to King/Besada. Gil/Nowak would lose 6-3 to McDermott/Kijak.
Singles - Metropolitan would win enough points in the doubles part of the match that as soon as they won three singles matches the match would end. Antelj would fall to Besada 6-2 in both sets. Miasato lost the first set 6-4 and second 6-3 to King. Gil would take on McDermott, this match would prove to be the one that Metropolitan would need to finish the Jets off. Gil would drop it 7(5)-6 and 6-3.
CSU - Pueblo - W 7-0
Doubles - The Jets would complete the clean sweep of the Thunderwolves, as they only had two doubles teams. In the first match Justo/Soome would defeat Cooper/Garcia 6-2. Antelj/Miasato would defeat Oyarzun Silva/Ripley 6-4.
Singles - Soome won his match against Cooper, 6-4 and 6-3. Antelj would end up defeating Garcia, 6-3 and 6-4. Gil would match up with Oyarzun Silva, a match in which Gil would win 6-3 and 6-1. Miasato faced off with Ripley and won with scores of 6-2 and 6-3.

The Jets will be back in action a week from today as they take on Cowley County CC in Arkansas City, Kan.
