LAST TIME OUT
Newman would finish their road trip on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Kearney, Nebraska to take on the Lopers of Nebraska Kearney inside Health and Sports Center. This game would come down to the final seconds, but the Jets couldn't get the late shot to fall as the Lopers would defeat the Jets 70-65.
THE COACHES
RJ Allen is in his fourth season as the head coach and tenth on the staff for the Jets. Allen is 2-13, 2-13 in the MIAA in his fourth season at Newman. Last season under coach Allen, the Jets went 9-19 and 3-16 in the MIAA. Â Allen has led Newman to a 34-23 overall record and a 21-11 Heartland Conference record over his first two seasons. Allen won Heartland Conference Coach of the Year honors in the 2017-18 season, he was the first coach to win the award in their first season. Prior to Newman Allen spent 5 season as an assistant coach at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn.
John Moseley is in his seventh season as the Lincoln Blue Tigers Men's Basketball head coach. Moseley led Lincoln to four consecutive winning seasons from 2015-2019, marking the first time in 40 years a Blue Tiger team has accomplished that feat. Now entering his seventh season, Moseley has led a resurgence in Blue Tiger basketball that includes the program's first winning season (2015-16) since 2001-02. During the 2015-16 season, the Blue Tigers won 11 MIAA games, matching their total from the previous six years combined, and earned a home victory over Emporia State in the first round of the MIAA Men's Basketball Championship.

Newman is 2-13 on the season, 2-13 in the MIAA. Newman is led in scoring by Redshirt Junior guard

Lincoln is 8-8 on the season, 8-8 in the MIAA. Lincoln is led in scoring by Sai Witt at 16.5 points per game. Witt also leads the Blue Tigers in rebounding at 8.7 rebounds per game.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the tenth all-time meeting between these schools with the Jets leading the series 8-1 over Lincoln.
LAST TIME VS NEBRASKA KEARNEY
For most of the first half, it was back and forth with neither team gaining much of a lead. Trailing by 7, Newman would make a comeback to take the lead 26-25 with 6:41 left. Lincoln (5-7, 2-1) would weather the storm and make a run of their own to take a 31-29 lead into the intermission. In the second half, Newman would respond as they gained their largest lead of the game, 52-46 lead with 9:46 left. Back to back turnovers and some missed shots gave Lincoln the chance to get back into the game and make a run of their own as they got the lead back with 5:21 left, 56-54. It was back and forth for the rest of the second half and much of the overtime period until Cameron Potts got past the Newman defense and made a layup with four seconds left to give the Blue Tigers the 74-72 win.
