WICHITA, Kan. – The Newman Men's Tennis team took on Northwest Missouri and Washburn this past weekend. The Jets would fall to the Bearcats 6-1 and the Ichabods 7-0.

Against Northwest, Gustavo Gil and Arthur Esteves Justo would get the only doubles win for Newman picking up a 7-6 win. Teodor Anttelj and Luca Penteado would drop their match 6-2. Jarrod Nowak and Gabriel Yaguar would lose their match 6-0.

In singles, Gil would lose 6-3, 6-0. Justo would pick up a point for the Jets with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Antelj would drop a 7-6, 6-3 match. Yaguar would lose a 6-2, 6-0 contest. Penteado would drop his first set 6-1 and send set 7-6. Nowak would lose his contest 6-4, 6-1.

Against the Ichabods, Justo and Gil would drop their doubles match 7-5. Penteado and Yaguar would pick up the only doubles win of the match 7-6 (9-7). Antelj and Nowak would lose by default.

Gil would lose in the #1 singles spot 7-6 (7-1), 6-0. Justo would win his first set 7-6(7-4), and then drop the next two sets 7-5 and 10-5. Yaguar would drop his contest 6-0, 6-2. Penteado would lose 6-3, 6-4. Nowak would drop his singles matchup 6-1, 6-2. Antelj would lose by default.

The Jets will be back in action on Friday, April 2^nd as they take on Emporia State in Emporia, Kan. at 10:30 am.
