MARYVILLE, Mo. – Women's golf returned to action after a 2 week break, making their way to Maryville for the Midwest Fall Classic at Mozingo Golf Course. Newman finished in 14
th place shooting 717 on the 2 day event. The Jets were able to salvage a day 1 score of 369 by shooting 21 strokes lower in day 2 and finished above Mary, Sioux Falls U, and MSU Moorhead.
Felisa Sajulga had the best result for NU, finishing tied for 22
nd. The Sophomore shot 4 strokes lower on day 2. This is her 4
th time in as many events finishing at the top for Newman. Saljuga finished in the top 22 in Birdies (2) and Pars (17).
It was a day of firsts for Junior
Megan Bay as she recorded her first Eagle in her career at Newman. The Junior shot -2 on the 457 yard Par 5 and was 1 of only 4 Eagles on the tournament. Bay ended the tournament with 9 pars.
Aiden Coffelt tied for 70
th and finished with 10 pars.
Alivia Nguyen tied for 53
rd and finished with 2 Birdies and 12 Pars. She also shot 4 strokes lower on day 2.
The Women's Golf team has their last fall tournament next Monday and Tuesday as they'll compete in the Tulsa Cup in Oklahoma.
