Box Score TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Jets Women's soccer team finished up their road matches for the 2022 season on Friday night with a trip to Northeastern State to face off against the Riverhawks (6-3-8), where they would fall 4-0.
First Half
Newman opened up the match aggressive and forced NSU into a rough spot with pass sent through multiple defenders and an early shot from Morgan Houston in the 5th minute, setting up a corner kick. Newman would keep their foot on the gas and continue to pressure NSU until the 15th minute when they caught a ball bouncing back out after a defended shot and scored the opening goal.
The Jets would try to fight their way back into the game, with a throw in leading to Faith Tyler getting a long shot off in the 24th minute that went to the center of the goal and was saved by NSU's Rebecca Partyka. They would have to fall back on defense 11 minutes later where they would do a great job stomping out any of NSU's chances to build their lead. another goal wouldn't be scored until the 43rd minute, when the Riverhawks would sneak a high arching shot in after the Jets cleared a corner kick.
Second Half
The next 45 minutes of play would begin similar to the first, with Newman again finding ways to put some pressure on the NSU defense, but being unable to find a shot. Their first real sense of danger came from a free kick pass sent from midfield to the box in the 58th minute that was tapped by a Riverhawk attacker, but saved by Jordan Webster.
They wouldn't be able to keep them out of the goal after another chance 6 minutes later however, when NSU's Lauren Parton would make a run from just past midfield to score. They would again score in the 74th minute after a counterattack that followed a push downfield by Newman. After some back and forth play with the Jets fighting until the final whistle, they would fall 4-0.

The Jets finish up their season at home on Sunday, October 23rd at 1 PM, where they'll celebrate and honor their 6 senior players for senior day.
