EDMOND, Okla. - Women's Basketball finished up their weekend stay at the Hamilton Field House in Oklahoma with a game against Missouri S&T. It was a low scoring game for the Jets as they were held to just 19 points in the second half after only being down by eight at halftime.
The game opened up with Newman holding their own and taking a 16-11 lead by the end of the first quarter. Britney Ho picked up right where she left off in the previous game going to work in the post and leading the Jets.
Newman would struggle from three all game, only hitting one shot from behind the arc in the first half, but they were able to keep it close and go into halftime only down by eight.
The second half is where Missouri S&T began to widen the deficit, as Laura Rodriguez had the hot hand all night, hitting four threes and scoring 24 on 66.7% shooting. This would be too much for Newman to overcome, and after a slow second half they would fall 73-42 against the Miners.
The Jets are back in action for their home opener this Tuesday, November 22nd at 5:30 PM in Fugate Gymnasium where they'll take on the visiting Central Christian Tigers.
