WICHITA - On Thursday and Friday Newman hosted ranked Washburn and Northwest Missouri State's Men's and Women's Tennis programs.  The Jets lost each of the matches despite solid efforts from individuals.

On Thursday, the #16 Ichabods went to work against the Jets in doubles taking 2 of 3 to secure the doubles point.  On the singles side it was Kurt Bruckner Saurez taking down the #52 ranked Raul-Alin Dicu in a doozy of a game.  The Sophomore won 6-3, 4-6, 1(10)-0(8).  Luca Penteado also won at the #5 6-3, 6-0.

The Women against the Bods did not go well at the start as WU swept the doubles for the doubles point.  The Jets did get one singles win at the #1 matchup with Dana Issabayeva winning.

One Friday it was all Bearcats.  The Jets did not secure any points.  In the men's doubles, the number one Jets Ali Mounir and Pedja Kolaric won 6-4.  On the women's side, no matches were won as the ranked Bearcats took command of the match early.

Newman is back in action Tuesday as they take on the north side of 54 with a match against Friends at 3 PM.
