Jets take on fierce competition in Wichita State Invitational

9/12/2022 11:21:00 AM

WICHITA – The Jets Tennis program spent their weekend just across town as they traveled to play in the Wichita State Invitational tournament. The men's team saw most of the action for the weekend with seven of their members participating in both singles and doubles matches.

They saw some success in the both the primary and backdrop bracket as 3 of their players made it to the quarter finals. Senior Pedja Kolaric had the standout performance of the day for the Jets, coming back to win against Wichita State's Richey King after dropping the first set and taking the second and third set via tiebreaker.

Junior Amber Hands was the sole competitor for the Jets women's team, and saw possibly the toughest competition in the form of Oklahoma State's #1 player Raquel Gonzalez.

The Jets will continue their fall tournament play again this weekend when they travel to Arkansas City, Kansas to play in the Tiger/Jinx Invitational starting this Friday.
