Jets fourth quarter scoring drought leads to a loss against Northwest Missouri State

WICHITA - Women's Basketball hosted the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats. The Jets cold scoring in the 4thquarter allowed the Bearcats to pull away late.
 
The Jets came out battling. Valerija Loukina and Britney Ho both added 4 points in the first quarter. Though the Jets only shot 37.5% FG to start, Newman trailed by only 4 at the end of the quarter.
 
Ho took over in the second quarter. She went 6 for 8 from the field scoring 14 points, including a big three pointer pulling the Jets within 2 points halfway through the quarter. Newman trailed by 6 at half.
 
Newman came out of halftime on fire, shooting 54.5% from the field, and 40% from three. They closed the 6-point lead with a couple of huge plays by Carissa Beck. Beck knocked down her first three-point attempt of the second half. Beck scored 9 points in the third quarter, keeping Newman on top by 1. 
 
In the fourth quarter, the Jets went cold. Newman shot 33.3% from the field. Northwest Missouri State pulled away in the last 2 minutes to clinch the win. 
 
Britney Ho led the Jets in scoring with 24 points shooting 55% FG, along with 11 rebounds. Her fifth double-double of the year.  
 
Carissa Beck added 13 points going 4 for 6 from the field and 4 for 4 from the stripe. 
 
Newman is back in action on Saturday, January 21st in Edmond, Oklahoma to take on the Bronchos.
