Men's Bowling finishes SWIBC in Dallas, Noah Akiona bowls 5th perfect game in Newman history

Akiona averages 237.4 to finish 2nd in individual standings

DALLAS, TX - Men's Bowling traveled to Dallas TX this past weekend to compete in the SWIBC events. Saturday would be at USA bowl for SWIBC 5. The Jets would be very steady most of the day and after 5 team games and 12 baker games finish in second place, averaging 199.6 on a very challenging condition.

Newman was led by freshman Zach Smullen who would finish 6th and average 210.2 and Silas Limes who finished in 12th averaging 202. 

NU would get some rest and get back after it on Sunday for the SWIBC 6 event and would again have a very consistent day with  the scores coming from a variety of the bowlers. They would finish in 3rd just missing 2nd place by 3 pins. The Jets would average 216.6 for the 7 team games. 

The Jets were led by Freshman Noah Akiona who would average 237.4 and would bowl the 5th perfect game in NU history in game 3. Noah would finish 2nd in the individual standings and be named to the All-Tournament Team. Freshman Zach Smullen would also have another good performance averaging 222.7 and finish in 9th place. Senior James Mciver would have his best event of the year as well averaging 219.8 and finish in 12th.

The women would also compete in these events and finish in 3rd place on both days.

Newman's next event is Feb 4-5 at the Mckendree Baker Classic.
