EDMOND, OK. - Women's Soccer played in their final match of the 2023 season, taking on the Central Oklahoma Bronchos to bring a close on the season. The Bronchos had defeated the Jets earlier in the season at Wilkins.
The Jets started off the game with aggression, with two shots from
Marta Aranda and
Maylani Birckbichler that troubled UCO just four minutes into the match.
After a promising open to the game, Central Oklahoma would change the momentum, and would be the first to break through after three shots on goal in the span of a minute.
The Jets would try and swing the momentum again with two more shots, but the tide turned once again when the Bronchos scored their second of the match.
Goal keeper
Jordan Webster exited the game at half time and was replaced by outfielder
Madi Minks for the remainder of the game. Webster had played in every minute of the season up until her second half exit.
Central Oklahoma would add two more goals in the second half, but the game would ultimately be ended early, as inclement weather would bring an early end to the final Jets game of the season.
The Jets will end the year with a 2-15-1 record, which saw the Jets improve on their previous season's record, with wins coming over Northwestern Oklahoma State and Missouri Southern.
The Jets will finish in 11th in the MIAA standings, finishing above Missouri Southern.
