CLAREMORE, Okla. - Men's Soccer played in their penultimate match of the season on Thursday, taking their last road trip of the season to Rogers State.
Newman was the first team to start on the attack, with two early shots from
Mario De Roque and
Alberto Romano missing just left of the goal in the opening ten minutes.
The pressure continued to mount as the Jets had multiple set piece opportunities, with Felix Tellez Ramierez nearly getting the first goal of the game.
Against the run of play, the Hillcats would strike first, scoring just before the halftime whistle.
The Hillcats would not be done scoring, as they scored two goals in less than 20 seconds. The 3-0 scoreline was tough for the Jets to respond to, as their offense would sputter. Two shots from leading scorer
Carlos Bellosta Manchon came close near the end of the game, but the result would stand at 3-0 at the final whistle.
The Jets will have their final match of the season at home, taking on #17 Southern Nazarene on Saturday at 1 PM. The Jets are looking to pull the double over the Crimson Storm, having upset them on the road several weeks ago.
