EMPORIA, Kan - Women's basketball took the short bus trip to Emporia, Kansas to take on the Lady Hornets. The Jets took down ESU at home earlier in the season and looked to do the same on the road in a high stakes matchup to stay in the hunt for the first MIAA tournament appearance for the Jets. Emporia State would get the best of the Jets in the back and forth matchup, 83-79 behind a 35 point performance from Tre'Zure Jobe. Emporia State took advantage of 19 Jets turnovers with 21 points off those turnovers in route to their win. The Jets got off to a slow start but overcame it to get the deficit, which was as high as 12 down to 4 going into the half. Newman used a 15-7 run to end the half and get back in the game after being down 34-22 at the 6:58 mark. The Jets came out of the half hot and used a 14-6 run to take a 4 point lead. The half became the Jordon Heckert show as the sophomore was lights out and scored 18 of her career high 30 in the 2nd half, all coming from beyond the arc. The sophomore was 8-10 from three point range and 11-16 on field goals coming off the bench. Britney Ho added to the scoring with 20 of her own ass the duo of her and Heckert combined for 50 of the Jets 79 points. The Jets outshot ESU 44.1% to 41.1% and matched the Lady Hornets with 12 three point field goals in the game.
