WICHITA- The Jets hosted #7/12 Central Oklahoma for senior night. The Jets fell short in the first meeting against the Bronchos in January.
The Jets struggled to get the offense going in the first half. Newman shot 28% from 3 and 29% from the field in the half. The Bronchos hot 3 point shooting, 57%, allowed them to pull away early. Newman went into halftime down 36-23. Stevie Strong lead the Jets in first half scoring with 14 points.
Hot shooting from the Bronchos allowed them to pull away from the Jets. Central Oklahoma shot 64% from the field in the second half. The Jets had no answer for the strong scoring for the Bronchos. The Jets made an effort to build up a comeback. Newman shot 27% from 3 and 51% from the field, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit that Central Oklahoma built.
Strong lead the Jets with 20 points and 6 assists. Strong finished the season scoring 10+ points in all 28 games. Strong is the first Jet to claim the MIAA scoring champion title.
Thomas Zevgaras added 12 points.
The Jets ended their season going 5-17 in conference play and 9-19 overall.
