MARYVILLE, MO- The Jets faced the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats to end their weekend of travel.
Game 1:
The Bearcats were the first to get on the board in the bottom of the 1st inning. Northwest Missouri was able to score 3 runs to take the lead 3-0. The Bearcats were able to score 2 more in the bottom of the 4th to stretch the lead 5-0.
The Jets offense was unable to give the Bearcats a run, and lost 5-0.
Newman ended the game with 4 hits and 3 defensive errors.
Game 2:
The Bearcats were first to score in game 2. Northwest Missouri got out to an early lead after scoring 2 in the bottom of the first.
The Jets were able to answer back with a run of their own in the top of the third inning. An RBI from Samantha Gutierrez hit Madi Canez in. This run put the Jets down 1 with lots of game left to play.
Northwest Missouri added 1 run in the 3rd inning and 2 runs in the 5th inning to take the lead 5-1.
The Jets couldn't rally together, and would finish the game with 1 run.
The Jets fell 5-1 in game 2.
Up Next: Newman will head to Ada, Oklahoma on March 28th to take on East Central for their second matchup up the season.
