Jevin Foust earns MIAA Freshman Wrestler of The Year, Named to First Team All MIAA

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Jevin Foust has been announced as the MIAA Freshman of The Year.
 
Foust had an incredible season in his first year as a Jet. The freshman went 3-0 in the MIAA season. He scored wins over Fort Hays State's Corbin White by decision (3-0),  Nebraska Kearney's Joey Airola by decision (8-4), and his best conference win over UCO when he defeated Garrett Steidley by fall (5:42). Foust finished the 2022-23 season at 18-15 and placed third in the Hospitality Open in Kearney, Nebraska, Fourth in the Drury Open in Springfield, Missouri, and 6th in the NCAA Super Regional IV in Edmond, Oklahoma.
 
Foust is the first Jet to be named Freshmen of The Year since Tyler Mies earned the award in 2014-2015 after winning the 149 lb title at the conference championships. Mies would finish 5th at the NCAA Super Region 4 Championships, one spot out of a bid for the national tournament. In addition to reshman of The Year, Foust was named to First Team All MIAA AT 133 lbs.
 
The future is bright for Jevin, who will be key factor in next year's wrestling team who will have a lot of experience underneath their belt. The Jets placed 5 wrestlers in the NCAA Super Regional last weekend to end the season on a high note.
