WICHITA- The Jets hosted Fort Hays State for an MIAA matchup.
Game 1:
Both defenses and pitching in game 1 was very solid. The Jets held the Tigers scoreless until the 7th inning. Madison Dewitt struck out 4 batters allowing only zero runs through 6 innings. While the Tigers also held the Jets scoreless through 7 innings.
The Jets were able to tack on 5 hits, but could not get any runs on the board. Navarro was 2-3 from the plate, but the pieces weren't falling together for the Jets offense.
In the top of the 7th inning, the Tigers offense came alive. Fort Hays State was able to tack on 7 runs in the top of the inning to take the game, 7-0.
Game 2:
Game 2 was a similar story. Both teams held each other scoreless through 3 innings. Jackie Gold allowed only 3 hits, striking out 3 batters through 7 innings.Â
However, the Tigers were able to piece a few hits together in the top of the 4th inning to score 3.
The Jets held the Tigers scoreless after the 4th inning but were unable to get their offense going. A no hitter from the Tigers pitcher, Schmidt, allowed the Tigers to take the game 3-0.Â
