PUEBLO, CO - The Jets were defeated in their first road game of the season, losing 2-1 to Colorado State Pueblo on Friday night.
The Jets were coming off their first win of the season, having defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State 2-1 last weekend.
Pueblo started off as the more aggressive of the two sides, having eight shots on goal in the first half alone. However, it was the Jets who would draw first blood. Against the run of play, the Jets were awarded a free kick from just outside the eighteen.
Alexandra Dan would score her first goal for the Jets, as she tapped in the ball from a few yards out following defensive confusion from the ThunderWolves.
The Jets would take the advantage to the break, but the tide turned quickly after halftime.
Pueblo scored two goals in twelve minutes, which would ultimately prove crucial to the outcome of the game. Pueblo almost had a third near the end of the game, but a lucky bounce off the crossbar kept the shot out.
The Jets only had two shots on goal during the game, while the ThunderWolves had eleven in the second half alone.
Jordan Webster had eight saves in the game, with four coming in each half.
The Jets fall to 1-2 on the season with the loss.
The Jets will remain in Pueblo for the weekend, as they will take on #23 Colorado Mesa in a neutral site game on Sunday at 11 AM CT (10 AM Mountain Time).
